I’m starting a journey I’m calling the Parenting Renovation. Just like renovating an old house I”m going to finance, purchase, plan, demo, and rebuild my parenting style and priorities. Every week I’m going to take on one challenge and I would love for you to join me!
What is the Goal?
Brick by brick I want to build up my children and improve myself.
How are we going to purchase?
What are we purchasing? We want to purchase a new attitude toward our children. We were bought with the blood of Jesus Christ when he died on the cross for our sins. We are a purchased people and paid for in full. What was he “buying for us”, forgiveness. “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do…” Luke 23:34
THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE is to forgive your children. When they misbehave pray for help to forgive them. Also talk with your children and let them know that they are good but making bad choices. Make sure to verbally tell your children “I forgive you.” Children learn by example so letting them know you are forgiving them will teach them to be forgiving to others.
Scripture to encourage you for this challenge.
Ephesians 4:32 Amplified Bible (AMP)
32 And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.
Matthew 6:14-15 Amplified Bible (AMP)
15 But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their [d]reckless and willful sins,[e]leaving them, letting them go, and [f]giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.
Matthew 18:35 Amplified Bible (AMP)
35 So also My heavenly Father will deal with every one of you if you do not freely forgive your brother from your heart his offenses.
