The Parenting Renovation Week 1

The Parenting Renovation Week 1

Add subtitle text (2)I’m starting a journey I’m calling the Parenting Renovation. Just like renovating an old house I”m going to finance, purchase, plan, demo, and rebuild my parenting style and priorities. Every week I’m going to take on one challenge and I would love for you to join me!

What is the Goal?

Brick by brick I want to build up my children and improve myself.

What is the current status of my house?

1256438_orig We have a good foundation and the walls and windows are in good shape however we might have a leak or two. What do I mean by this? If I am honest I complain, I yell, I can have a short temper, I can get easily stressed out. As a Christian sometimes I don’t feel like I act Christian and certainly like I am failing as a Christian mom. Is anyone else in this situation? Can anyone relate? “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16 By admitting my short comings and faults to the world I am leaving myself open for criticism and judgement. I feel like if we work on this together that we can encourage one another to not just use the internet to vent about whats wrong but to fix what is wrong.

How are we going to finance?

If you were going to finance a house you would need to go to a bank but we don’t need money we need to make a spiritual withdraw, so we need to go to God. We can’t love others until we feel loved. “We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

THE FIRST CHALLENGE is to start every morning this week before the kids wake up is to pray. We are going to pray that God fills us up with love and that his love shows through our actions.

I love what Joyce Meyer said she said that we have a love gas tank and it gets burned up by life so we need to go to God to fill up. So lets go to God every morning this week and ask God to filler’ up!

God doesn’t love us because we are perfect. He loves us because He is perfect. Because he lives in you, you can love others even though they aren’t perfect.

Fact: It takes 21 days to form a new habit so lets go 22 days and see if we can be a good statistic!

Scripture to encourage you for this Challenge!

James 1:5-6 Amplified Bible (AMP)

If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [a]the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.

Luke 11:9-13 Amplified Bible (AMP)

So I say to you, Ask and [a]keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and [b]keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and [c]keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.

10 For everyone who asks and [d]keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and [e]keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and [f]keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened…give good gifts [gifts [h]that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and [i]continue to ask Him!

Proverbs 2:3-5 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,

Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.
