One Request That Will Change Your Entire Marriage

One Request That Will Change Your Entire Marriage

One requestAs wives we ask many things of our Husbands; please take out the trash, spend more time with the kids, get off the video games, don’t take four hour naps. The list could really be endless but there is only one request you need to make to change your entire marriage.
“Please put God first.” Love, Your Wife
Want to throw your husband off then request him to not do something for you but for himself! If your husband would put God first in his life than he will by default become everything you need although still flawed and your relationship will heal when it becomes rooted in Christ. Does that mean he will become an entirely new person and never play video games again! Most likely not but his priorities will change and he might still play video games but after he has meet his responsibilities. If you don’t feel comfortable making such a bold request or your husband has not yet found God then say nothing but ACT. What? English please preferably with an instruction manual.
“Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;” 1 Peter 3:1 King James Version
Another translation of this verse is
“Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,” 1 Peter 3:1 English Standard Version

Well that sounds like a lot of work. I am tired of working I always put in more effort it is his turn. How long would that take? I don’t know if I can wait that long I need change NOW!

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” Psalm 27:14 ESV
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 ESV
Take courage, wow. So God said this wouldn’t be easy that it would take strength an courage to wait for him. He told us that if we do wait he will fulfill his promises. Yup. That’s right! Well what kind of conduct am I suppose to have to win him over that is kind of vague isn’t it? Well remember that instruction manual you asked for? It has an answer for that to. Since you have time *wink* read Proverbs. There is a special section of Proverbs that talks to the wife, it is Proverbs 31 but I recommend reading the whole book. ;p
You are advertising a pretty strong message one request that will change your entire marriage. I care about my reputation I want you to trust my website and my content. I have the confidence to make that claim because my own marriage was saved by waiting on God and using my conduct and the word to change my own marriage. It was through his grace and mercy God healed my marriage and heard my secret prayer. My husband and I got married young and we got the privilege of not only growing old together but to grow up together! That said we did not grow up at the same rate and it was frustrating but I didn’t give up and I turned to God. Take one day at a time. A great tool is both the movie Fireproof and book The Love Dare. I defiantly recommend the book The Love Dare it is a day by day guide on how to show love to your partner for forty days. If you want a sneak peek inside the book click here. Sometimes the perspective of your marriage is just as damaging as the actual issues. Remember “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) God has a plan for your life and it is for the good.

What is Love? The Bible defines it!
“4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”  1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New International Version (NIV)

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
This article is a lot of scripture but that is because nothing can say it better or more accurately then the source. If you yourself are undecided about God watch God’s Not Dead…I have a feeling it will help you choose your final answer. God Bless.
