When your loved ones are deployed you live for communication. A phone call, for a moment, shrinks the distance between two pieces of one heart. Cell Phones for Soldiers is a nonprofit serving troops and veterans with free communication services and emergency funding.
Recycle and Serve
There are 3,800 cell phone collection points across the nation. Locally I saw a donation center at my local Navy Federal Credit Union. According to
E cycle out of the 70% of reusable mobile devices only about 14-17% of mobile devices are recycled. This is dangerous to our environment because of several toxins in our devices.
Fact: “A majority of toxic waste in our landfills comes from e-waste.” –E cycle
By recycling your gently used cell phone you provide America’s Bravest with a connection to home. Lets remind our troops what they are fighting for by giving them a link back to where their love is rooted in the land of the free and home of the brave. Together we can give back and serve our troops. For those who are apart of the Military we can support those who understand and share our struggles and sacrifice. Together we can make a difference.
What is the Bottom Dollar?
$5 gifts 2.5 hours of talk time. $100 gifts 50 hours or 3,000 minutes of talk time. Calling these minutes talk time though doesn’t do this gift justice. What is being gifted is “time together”. The most valuable currency is time. No matter your circumstance, status, location, or language time spends the same for all of us. Time is a gift and when spent well creates the memories that define our journey and legacy.
